BADEN’s old centre, town hall and 1847 railway station are UNESCO world heritage sites.

Situated in Switzerland, Baden has welcomed many European personalities, such as Goethe and Nietzsche. Renowned for its thermal waters, it is a picturesque and charming place, dominated by the ruins of the Habsburg Stein Castle, on the banks of the river Limmat.

Extremely popular in its heyday, Baden was the destination of the first railway in Switzerland. It is also where the 1714 Treaty that ended the war between France and the Holy Roman Empire was signed.
