SAONA ISLAND is a nature reserve.

Situated in the Caribbean Sea, the island is appreciated for its natural wild beauty, with endless beaches of a blinding white, filled with immense snail shells, with turquoise waters of incredible beauty and palm forests. The island has often been chosen by American producers of films and ads as a a production site, for its natural wildness.

It was discovered by Cristophor Columbus in 1494, during his second voyage to America. He called it Saona, after Michele da Cuneo of Savona, Columbus’ friend, who was also the first Governor of the island.
