FATEHPUR SIKRI is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Fatehpur Sikri (The City of Victory) is situated in India and was the capital of the Mughal Empire for ten years.

It was constructed by the Emperor Akbar (1556-1605) in 1571-1573, on the same site where the birth of his son (Jahangir) was predicted by the wiseman Shaikh Salim Christi.

The city includes Jama Masjid, the great mosque, one of the largest mosques in India.
