Hong Kong is one of the world’s largest cities and also one of the largest ports in the world. Its skyline, filled with shiny sky-scrapers, is famous all over the world.

Some of the tallest buildings in the world are here, as well as Asia’s biggest-traffic airport, with runways built into the sea. Sea traffic is also very busy, so much so that the waters of the gulf are always moving in waves , even when there is absolutely no wind.

The island of Hong Kong was given over for the first time to the British in 1842, after the First Opium War. In 1898, Great Britain obtained concession rights from China for 99 years. In 1997, the British domination ended, and Hong Kong returned to China.

In this fabulous town, East and West blend in perfect harmony, like nowhere else in the world, even the modern design of sky-scrapers being made in respectful acknowledgement of old feng-shui traditions.
