Legend has it that this is the gods’ corner. And indeed, Mirador los Andes is one of those places that leave you breathless.
It is one of South America’s and the world’s highest roads, thus it has some incredibly beautiful views. Situated on the Chachani, at an altitude of 6,075 m, it has in view six other volcanoes: Hualca Hualca, Sabancayo, Ampato, Chachani, Misti and Ubinas.
The natural beauty of the place and the total silence, completed by the small ephemereal constructions of small rocks arranged by local people as offerings that stretch so long that the end is lost to the eye, makes it appear surreal, out of this world.
