PATAN is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Situated in Nepal, Patan (or Lalitput) is considered the oldest town in the Kathmandu Valley. It is believed to have been founded in the third century B.C. by the Kirat dynasty.

The whole town looks like an open museum, with beautiful buildings and structures with intricate ornamentation, with more than 1,200 Buddhist monuments of various shapes and sizes scattered in and around the city. The symbolic and artistic values are manifested in the rich ornamentation of the buildings, displaying a highly developed traditional craftsmanship.

The amazing Patan Durban Square, the royal palace, the temples and stupas, the windows, doorways and roof struts with rich decorative carvings, the beautiful courtyards and all the art pieces in stone, metal, wood and terracotta illustrates the highly developed culture of the Kathmandu Valley.
