Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is in Abu Dhabi. It is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the 8th in the world.

The mosque shelters the largest chandelier in the world, 10 m in diametre and 15 m long, as well as the largest carpet in the world, 5627 square metres.

Islamic with Indian influences in architectural style, with 57 domes and four minarets rising as tall as 115 m in its four corners, the mosque’s exterior walls are all white marble and its 17,000 square meters courtyard is also paved with white marble, with floral motifs. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque impresses not only through sheer size, but also because of the special attention given to details. The immense inner walls are also of white marble, decorated with countless decorations made of semi-precious stones arranged in islamic or floral motifs. The seven chandeliers, of which one is the largest in the world, are gold-plated and they comprise millions of crystals.

Next to the mosque is the tomb of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the United Arab Emirates.
