VIENNA is a UNESCO world heritage site.
Capital of Austria and former capital of the Austro-Hungarian empire, Vienna is a city of varied architectural styles, from classic and Baroque to Art Nouveau and modernism.
The landmarks of its historical center – Schonbrunn Palace, St Stephen Cathedral, all the monuments, gardens and parks – remind one of the town’s cultural and political golden age. The Schonbrun Palace, a Baroque creation of architects Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and Nicolaus Pacassi, was the residence of the Habsburg emperors from the 18th century until 1918.
The city played a major part in Europe’s musical life, from Viennese classicism to the beginning of the 20th century.
