WARWICK CASTLE is part of the national British heritage.
Viewed as England’s most important medieval castle, Warwick is in the top ten list of historical monuments in the UK.
Built by William the Conqueror in 1068, the castle was rebuilt by Henry II (1154-1189), and during the 100-year war the facade was rebuild and fortified – thus becoming the most popular example of military architecture in the 14th century.
Warwick Castle was used both as a fortress and, frequently, to incarcerate famous figures – such as King Edward IV, in the 15th century.
